About

Main Bio

I'm Sreevatsana product designer in India who gets excitedabout making complicated things simple.

I design enterprise B2B products where complexity is inherent to the problem space. These products often involve multiple teams, interconnected systems, and workflows that must scale across organisations. I use design to help teams understand the problem space, bring structure to ambiguous requirements, and shape products that remain clear and usable as they grow.

My work has focused on systems such as governance workflows, configuration layers, subscription and billing platforms, and multi-entity environments. In these domains, UX decisions often influence not just the interface but also how the product behaves and evolves. I work closely with product managers and engineers to explore early problem spaces, align teams around a shared direction, and design systems that balance usability with real operational needs.

Currently, I'm at Chargebee designing CPQ, Approvals, and multi-entity systems for enterprise billing — and mentoring designers along the way. Before that, I was at Zarget (acquired by Freshworks) as a Senior UX/UI Designer, freelanced as an independent designer, and started my career at Zoho as a visual designer.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing chess, catching up over cricket with friends, reading startup-focused articles and blogs, and watching films. These keep me curious, competitive in a healthy way, and connected to ideas beyond day-to-day design work.

My Story

Starting with why, not what

Before jumping into wireframes, I want to understand what problem we're actually solving. Sometimes the thing people ask for isn't the thing they need. My favorite projects start with good questions and end with solutions that feel obvious in hindsight.

Designing for real constraints

Perfect conditions don't exist. Budgets are tight, timelines are aggressive, legacy systems are messy, and sometimes you just can't talk to users directly. I'm comfortable making smart decisions with imperfect information and finding creative solutions within real limitations.

Collaboration over hero design

The best work happens when designers, engineers, and product folks are actually talking to each other—not throwing things over the wall. I genuinely enjoy the back-and-forth of figuring out what's possible, what's practical, and what's going to create the most value.

Making the invisible visible

Some of the most impactful design work isn't flashy—it's the progress indicator that keeps people oriented, the auto-save that prevents panic, the validation message that actually helps instead of just saying 'error.' These details build trust.

My Work

Timeline

Chargebee

Product Designer → Design Manager → Staff Product Designer. Led design for CPQ, Approvals, multi-entity workflows, and cross-product setup experiences. Mentored designers, established frameworks for problem framing, and partnered deeply with PMs and engineering.

Current

Zarget (acq. Freshworks)

Senior UX/UI Designer. Designed A/B testing, heatmap, and funnel analysis experiences for a fast-moving SaaS startup, working end to end from concept to shipped product until the Freshworks acquisition.

2016 - 2017

Independent Designer

Freelance. Worked with startups and growing teams on UX strategy, product design, and brand, learning how to articulate my process, run discovery with stakeholders, and ship independently.

2015 - 2016

Zoho

Visual Designer. Started my career crafting visual and marketing design for one of India's largest SaaS companies, building the craft foundations that still shape how I approach interface detail today.

2011 - 2015
